Being Lazy

Being lazy can be fun and is sometimes necessary for mental sanity.  On days that I set aside to be lazy and not stress and not think and just do nothing... I choose to watch movies and occasionally watch TV.  A really random and not that popular show that I have found a weird love for....Dating in the Dark on ABC.

It is fantastic and you must watch it.

Three men and three women live in a house for a couple days... but the house is split in two. Men on one side. Women on the other side. They schedule dates with each other via the computer and meet only in a completely, pitch-black, dark room.  The show schedules fun twists... like the participants being able to judge each other based on their luggage contents... or the participants meet with a sketch artist and allow them to describe what they think the others look like and showing it to that person... or they dressed mannequins in a way that they want their significant other to look like and then they get to see how the others chose to dress their mannequins.  So, they can only base their opinions of each other on what they learn from talking and feeling in the dark. It is fun for the viewers, because we get to see what they look like and how they are judging each other from both sides.  Sometimes two guys will compete for one girl, or girls will compete for one guy.  At the end of the show, they get to see one person they pick in the light and then they get to choose if they want to continue dating them, or they can walk out on them.  It is exciting and fun.

I like that people are forced to put looks aside and just be real.  You also get to see true colors at the end, because if a hot guy rejects a not so hot girl (or vice versa) even though he liked her personality... then you can tell how shallow they are in the end.

The show's motto... Is love blind?
